Chinese New Year is more than a holiday in China. It is a moment to pause.

People return home, share meals with family, and say “Happy New Year” to close one chapter and open another.

Festival Activities

🏮House Cleaning

Before Chinese New Year, almost every household does a deep clean, known as house cleaning.
It symbolizes clearing away the tiredness and troubles of the past year.

🧧Put up red couplets

In Chinese culture, red represents good luck, happiness, and blessings.

Families place red couplets on their doors, with words expressing hopes for peace, success, and togetherness in the coming year.

Sometimes the character “Fu” (fortune) is placed upside down, because “upside down” sounds like “arriving” — meaning good fortune has arrived.

🥂Reunion dinners

On New Year’s Eve, families gather for a reunion dinner. The food doesn’t have to be extravagant, but being together matters most.

For many Chinese families, togetherness itself is the true meaning of the holiday.

🙌Warm wishes

On the first day of the New Year, people greet each other with simple wishes like “Happy New Year.”

Whether spoken in person, over the phone, or through messages, the meaning remains the same — sincere good wishes for the year ahead.

✨Chinese New Year is a time to pause, reflect, and move forward.

It reminds us to appreciate the present and prepare thoughtfully for the future.

On this special occasion, we extend our warmest wishes to everyone who walks this journey with us.
